Dragon's Crown: Elf Portrait

"A long-lived forest race who are often much older than they appear to human eyes. While slight of body, they are deadly masters of the bow and arrow, using their superior athleticism to fight nimbly and fearlessly from a distance."

There's something so whimsical and carefree about wearing this costume... (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

All pieces were created and patterned from scratch:

Green linen for the shirt, red-brown pig leather for the cowl, boots, quiver & shorts.
Cape is made from brown wool, finished with satin bias.
Bow is made by hand (You can check out my galleries for the WIP on it, if you're interested.), as are the knocked/fletched arrows. 

I used an Eowyn Arda Wig in Ash Blonde, and attached more wefts in the same color to the temples of the wig so I could make the braids large. 

For Anime Expo 2014, we debuted our Dragon's Crown costumes! All of these shots were taken on Saturday by the fantastic Somatic-Studios  (Please check him out and send him a like, let him know I've sent ya!) and despite the extreme humidity and lengths we went to to get into these... it was so worth it!
